Our Story

MelisaHome began in 2020, in Ukraine, with a single candle.

During the quiet of the pandemic, I made a candle — just for myself. But something about the process caught me completely: the warmth of the wax, the patience it asked for, the small moment of calm it created. I shared it on Instagram almost on a whim, and what started as a personal ritual slowly grew into something I couldn't put down.

That single idea has stayed with the brand ever since: home should always be a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and at peace.

A New Chapter in California

A few years later, life brought me across the world to California. Starting over in a new country — as a mom, as a maker, as a small business owner — has been both challenging and inspiring.

Today I'm rebuilding MelisaHome from the ground up, carrying the same passion, craftsmanship, and care that first inspired it. My hope is to introduce America to a brand that celebrates slow living, meaningful design, and the simple joy of creating a cozy home.

Why Natural Wax

From the very beginning, I chose to work only with natural materials — because the things we bring into our homes should be as safe as they are beautiful.

Natural wax burns slowly, holds color beautifully, and gives each piece a special strength and character. No paraffin, no synthetics — just materials you can feel good about lighting every single day.

Made by Hand, in Small Batches

There's no factory behind MelisaHome. Every candle is poured by hand, one at a time — which means no two are ever exactly alike. The shapes, the colors, the small imperfections: they're what make each piece its own.

My days start the same way — checking new orders, packing, and heading to the post office each morning. Then I return to the workbench: pouring new pieces, preparing molds, checking what's running low. I set aside separate, focused time for design and new ideas, because that part deserves real attention.

I source my molds from niche, independent makers — small businesses like mine, not mass production. And I've developed my own techniques along the way, especially in how I finish each piece and build its color.

One Person Behind It All

It's just me. Every candle you receive was chosen, poured, finished, and packed by the same pair of hands.

MelisaHome is for people who value craftsmanship and care about the details — people who don't just buy from brands, but choose the humans behind them.
